6 Body Weight Exercise Tip

Hey guys, just wanted to share 6 body weight exercises that you can do without any equipment whilst you’re away on Songkran. Check it out and try it to stay fit until we see you again next week!

2) Pushups x 15 reps
3) Glute Bridges x 15 reps
4) Burpees x15 reps

Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer?

I have always been involved in sports growing up and love working in a team. Sports was always a great way for me to relieve life stress and helped me stay focused on a goal. As soon as I graduated from high school I decided to become a personal trainer to be able to help people achieve their goals in whichever way I could help. I love being able to progress with my clients and seeing how they can push themselves towards their goal and see them achieve their goals through commitment and hard work.

Imagine a client is discouraged during a training session. How do you keep them motivated?

I think it is always very important to remind clients why they came to train with me in the first place. I think it’s very important to remind them of the goal they set and that they are not alone, that I am here for them and their trainer, but also their friend. I genuinely want to see my clients reach their goals as much as they do because it is also rewarding for me to see the smile on my clients face when they are finally happy with where they are in life. Even though it may take patience and time to get there, I try to change up my sessions to always keep them enthusiastic about coming into sessions with me.

How important is nutrition to you? Will you strongly suggest your clients follow a better diet to improve their fitness goals?

I think nutrition is very important, not only for achieving weight goals, but for the overall health of my client. That is why I am very proud that MaxFit has a meal plan where we calculate the specific caloric intake of our clients who sign up for our meal plan and we personally cook for them and prepare meals to our client’s needs. I don’t know any other gym that goes the extra mile like we do for our clients and it has really helped with results that our clients are after.

Do you have fitness goals for yourself? If so, what are they?

I do, I would love to get back in to Thai Boxing. I used to train with my friends, but I would like to take it more seriously as I think it’s a fun way for keeping healthy, strong and it’s also great for self-defense.

 

 

What are three essential exercises you suggest for all clients? Why are these in your top three?

  • Squatting because it’s a fundamental movement that everyone uses every day without being conscious of doing so. For example, sitting down and standing up from your chair, that is a basic form of a squat.
  • Pushups because I think it is very important for us to be able to push our own body weight and we also use this pushing movement in our daily life. For example, opening a door.
  • Lunging is another movement that I think is important because it is a vital movement pattern that transfers into walking, stair climbing and picking things up from the floor

What does a typical class of yours entail? Can you walk us through how you start a class from the very beginning to the end of the cool down and give our viewers of what you do with your clients?

My classes usually start with a dynamic warm up to help warm up the muscles and get the heart elevated a little bit. There are usually 3 circuits in a class and the structure of exercises vary depending on what class I am teaching. For the cool down I like to do static stretching or a little yoga to help allow oxygen and blood flow back to the muscles for recovery.

How do you keep your fitness training knowledge up to date?

Through going to learn new things that can be related to training. For example, I went to go study massage therapy for one year in Portland, Oregon where one of the things I had to study was kinesiology, which is the study of the muscles in the body and it helps me today to have a better understanding of movement and action caused by muscle groups working together and therefore it benefits me in designing exercises to teach my clients.

What do you think is the biggest misconception about fitness?

I think the biggest misconception about fitness is time. I have experienced a lot of clients who really eager to see results, but are impatient with the time that it may take sometimes to transform your body. Or I’ve come across clients who may not have enough time and therefore takes a longer time to see results and they start to lose their vision of their goal. I truly believe that the results you want to see in the mirror or on the scale is a project that someone has to invest their own time in for themselves. That includes how regularly you come into the gym and also putting in time to cook and prepare a healthy meal for yourself. Self-love may take time, but ultimately, I believe that it will help you reach a fulfilling goal.

Adam Taking the Test

A video of Owner/ Director of MaxFit Performance competing in under armour test of will competition. Having placed in the top 40 of over 300 of some of the fittest in Bangkok, with a total score of 98 reps in 4 minutes. Having not trained very much leading up to the event. Next year his goal is to finish in the top 10 by training more consistently and training specifically related to the event, which he has started to do in the last few weeks. What are your fitness goals? Would you like someone to hold accountability for your goals? Never allow waiting to become a habit, have some goals in mind?
